A young woman’s grandmother impresses on her the importance of water, not only for their people, but for the earth and all the animals in it. The little girl is determined to take up the good fight to protect the earth’s water supply from an oil pipeline that threatens to poison the natural water resources that are nearest to her. She reminds the reader that her people are proud to be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves, that they use their drums, and songs and protests to make a stand, and that most importantly water is priceless and must be protected.
